The Detroit Tigers have agreed to a five-year contract extension with Justin Verlander through 2019, with a vesting option for the 2020 season. According to Buster Olney, Verlander can make $202m under terms of his new deal. He’ll get $180m over next seven seasons, plus vesting option of $22m. He wanted to get a deal done before the season started because he had no intentions of having contract negotiations during the season. So, congratulations to the Detroit Tigers for locking up the best pitcher in the game.

Wonder if this enough to win back Kate Upton?
